Sarah currently works as a coach at the École nationale de cirque where she teaches dance trapeze, rope, aerial fabric, fixed trapeze, duo trapeze and flexibility classes in the college program. Trained initially in classical ballet, she performed as a modern dancer in New York City.
She began her aerial training and performance work after moving to Montreal in 2003, and began her career teaching aerial techniques at La Caserne 18-30, before working at the ÉNC in 2007. She has taught workshops in aerial technique and aerial choreography while performing at the Aerial Dance Festival in Boulder, Colorado, the Aerial Dance Encounters in La Baule, France, and the Irish Aerial Dance Festival in Dublin.
She works closely with Fred Deb’ of the French company Drapés Aériens, and has participated in the development and creation of the company’s 2 pedagogical DVDs in aerial fabric technique. As a choreographer, she has created many solo works, and most recently worked with the Irish company Fidget Feet on developing a dance trapeze duo, “Hang On,” as well as a rope duo, “Catch Me.”
She choreographed and coached a back-up number on an aerial bicycle for Cirque du Soleil’s production “Kurios: Cebinet de Curiosités.” She holds an AEC from the École nationale de cirque, and assists Patrice Aubertin with the coordination of the Coach Training program.
